How My Grandchildren Saved Christmas ( And Myself)

Christmas time, 2023 did not bring celebrations or happiness of any kind.  Instead, brought a stroke. putting me in the hospital for what was thought to be a few weeks, but turned into months.
Grandma's Saving Angels

I had suffered not only a stroke, but blood clots slowed my healing, since Factor V Leiden is a blood disorder shared in my family.

The grandchildren and I had been baking cookies, before my
left arm began tingling and my left leg collapsed  under me.  I was on the floor unable to stand up.  Thank goodness my grandchildren knowing not to panic. They had knew to call 9-1-1. With in minutes the fire department arrived.
I would spend several days hospitalized, then weeks became months, and then a whole year had past.  Recovery was slow, but after Easter I was ready to go thru Walton's Way Rehab.  I worked every hour of the intense therapy to recovery.  I was thrilled to be going home for the first time in nearly a year!  I finished the program a little early, something
I think had more to do with the excitement of going home than just my will to finish the program early, get home to family.

But things never seem to happen as planned or hopped.  I arrived at home to a celebration.  Then the worst thing happened,  I fell backward flat on my back.  I was transported to Doctor's Hospital. I was there again for another couple of weeks.  I was taken to Keysville for rehab again.  This time staying until March 2024. I have been here in Lakes Crossing since January of 2016.  And I am ready to go home! What was intended to be a hospital stay of 3 days but up ended up being two years.

So two years of  time are holidays, church, bible school, my grand daughters dance recitals, my grandsons gymnastics, meals out, family get to gatherings, the birth's of two new grand daughters, and collage graduations are lost.

I am now 59 years old and free leave when I can find a home.
I have tried pubic housing, but the wait is 2 years to 5 years.

So, after several fundraising tries I am going a different route.  I am now BEGGING for help. I am here until I find an affordable Granny Flat  that will  suit  my new special needs. Thank you.
