    Christmas of 2023 did not bring happiness or joy, because I suffered a strode at home.  As we tied bows on the Christmas fudge and roasted pecans preparing then to mail to family and friends.  

    As my left arm went numb, followed by my left knee buckling under me.  Before I knew it I was on the floor with my arm between the hot oven and the cupboard beside it.  I was in a dangerous situation,  But my grandchildren knew how to help and not become

scared by the fire department or EMT's .

    Before long our little neighbor hood was overrun with neighbors, friends, family and emergency personnel.The children were told  that they had done every thing right And saved Nana. 

    I have the double Factor V Leiden gene, so I am on blood thinners for the rest of my life. luckily was found in my early adulthood.

After my brother developed massive blood clots resulting in a stroke.And hospitalizes for months, he asked the family all get checked. Several of us and our children have Factor V Leidn. A serious blood disorder tat causes strokes and major heart problems.

The first time I sat up in bed on my own.
Covid caused shortages in supply of materials needed to produce the swings to carry people.  I had to wait several weeks  to  get a swing. 

  I have missed so much being here.  New babies born, dance recitals, all the holidays, birth days,weddings, church programs,graduations, and helping my son's Special Olympic team are examples of some of the many things I have missed.

 

My family and I had such high hopes when we found I was being sent to Walton's Way for care. But sadly it would only last one day, because I fell at home, resulting in a small brain bled. I would be hospitalized for another 2 weeks. Then shipped to a skilled nursing home, located in Keysville, Ga.  As the first year passed I chose to come to Lake Crossing, with the under standing and promises  of better therapy. After this year has past I am not sure what to think about the medical care I have  gotten. Things are difficult at times, people are often petty. I  can keep some of my  SS,  I hope it will be enough to buy a  Granny Flat and get back to life!
