This Man Called Mr Beast

Dear Mister Beast,

I am a grand mother from Georgia,  and my grand children were home when I suffered a stroke.  These two took the lead from me and saved my life.  By contacting our 9-1-1 fire department dispatch, and making sure to lay out our address and phone number clearly, they made me so proud. By even putting our dog in his kennel to keep him from following the paramedics, as he loves chasing anything loud.

With in minutes our little neighborhood was filled with neighbors, friends, family and fire trucks and ambulances.  I did not see home for the next year, as healing from the stroke took longer than expected.   But a great rehab center happened to be taking new patients near by.  I went to Walton Rehab center and did the the 60 day push.  True to their word, I left about 60 days later.  I was thrilled to be with my  friends  and family.  However, it wouldn't last for long.  In fact I was home exactly one day when I fell.  This fall would not only send me back to the hospital, but cause a small brain bleed.

I would be sent to a skilled nursing home, Keysville, Ga.  The year I spent there was filled with therapy. Being far from home was difficult.  So when I was offered the chance to come here I took it.  I was supposed to be closer to home, able to see my grand children more, and more better therapy.   This is Lake Crossing.  And there is little to be happy about here.  The food is not edible. The employees are lacking proper training.  The company just sold to The Reserves at Appleing.  Like any place there are some good and some bad. But as the payee of my bills here, I am finding this place,  less and less desirable.

I have been in three nursing homes and one Rehab center.  Pruitt, Keysville, Walton's Way, and Lake Crossing.  I have worked hard enough that I have been able to return to church and Sunday's at my sister's home.  But I lost my housing, the only reason I am still here and not gone home yet.  I have a short list of needs in my small home,  like clothes racks lowered to reached the closet better and the kitchen counters lowered.  I  know this seems like such a demand, but I can afford a small mortgage.   I need to return to  volunteering for Special Olympics, traveling with the team, fundraising, my granddaughters dance recitals, birth days, school programs, and my family.

Thank you for your time,

Sandra Dale Welch
