Since finding an apartment in Columbia. County, Georgia or the surrounding area's, seems impossible. I am following my first thought and seriously considering a one bed and bath or even a yurt. What ever, the first interest is getting out of this skilled nursing home. The sooner I get home, the sooner I will get back to living life again. I can feel my self withering away here. My brown hair is now silver.
Between, yelling night and day here and the aged mental health problems days are often long. I have in three days found four different people sleeping in my bed. Since we have no privacy, roommates view you using the bathroom, changing clothes, and preparing for your day. The idea of living the rest of my life in a 14' by 28 ' room, with no privacy, wearing borrowed clothes, if there happen to be returned from the laundry once the clothes have been washed with only god knows what. Currently I am listening to a patient screaming that she wants more snacks.
These are two of my favorite children. These are the kids that saved my life after I suffered a stroke at home. They have been waiting for me to come home. One day I will get there, I just don't know when. They take turns sleeping in my bed to keep it warm for me.
I am praying soon, and we will bake cookies. All you can eat. Every flavor!
The wait for housing is horrible, I am on three lists, each longer than the next. The city of Harlem, Georgia is my first choice. But the waiting list is 3 to 5 years just to get on the list. Once on the list, there is no promise of even seeing an apartment. Augusta is worse, the wait just to get on the list in between 5 and 8 years!
